Kamlah Fort, Mandi District

Kamlah Fort has been an impregnated Fort of erstwhile Mandi State. Its importance can be gauged by the fact that the coronation of the new Raja will not be complete unless the coronation ceremonies are also held here. It is a natural fort with deep precipices and ridges difficult to be scaled by human beings. There are blind alleys to mislead the opponents and the big stores for storing the cereals - rice, 'kodra', Wheat etc. to be used in the times of famine. The most striking feature of the Fort are the water tanks where water of the rains is stored clean for months together.
