Nati of Kullu valley, Mandi district

Kullu valley is known for its orchards and rich crops but it also abounds I rich tradition of performing arts. Here is displayed ‘Nati’ folk dance where men and women both participate. The ‘Pahari’ orchestra sets the rhythm and the dancers are all immersed in their ecstasies and raptures. The attire of men and women is traditional and colourful and it creates and atmosphere of gay abandon and ecstatic frenzy. Our folk dances are slow in movements in the beginning but then gather momentum gradually.
