Chowki Typical  Hill House

This village near Ruhanda between Chail Chowk and Pangana abounds in 'Chowki' type of houses. Here the photographer has caught in his camera the old living structures where many families would live in the four sides of the big compound made generally of stone slabs. The roofs are slanting and of slates. It underlines the cohesion and mutual affection and understanding among the different families with their hub-bub and boisterous life. It is with great sadness to add that these old 'chaises' are now vanishing with the onslaught of individual apartments and isolated structures.
