Nurpur Fort Gate, Nurpur, Kangra District

Nurpur was also historically very important and mighty State especially under the rule of Maharaja Jagat Singh. King Jehangir and his consort Nurjehan visited this place and so goes the name Nurpur. The Fort is in ruins but still there are some remnants of its old glory and grandeur. The photographer has captured in his camera the great Entrance to the palace of Nurpur. A few paces ahead lies the reputed temple of Brajraj Swami. The massive walls and the pillars remind us that we are entering the Palace and the Fort of the great and mighty Rajas. The outside Entrance Gates, grand and massive, are an indicator of the greatness and strength of its lords and residents.
